AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION REPAIR & REFINISHING INSTRUCTOR

REPORTS TO: Vocational Director POSITION SUMMARY: As an educator at Bay Path RVTHS you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of all students in your classroom. You will be expected to align your teaching to the district and state curriculum; to regularly assess students for learning comprehension and to modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of all students, especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities. Being an educator at Bay Path will require that you have patience, perseverance, creativity, excellent content knowledge, and a true desire to prepare all students for successful lives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students. Assist in the procurement and purchase of approved equipment and supplies to support students in the Chapter 74 Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing program. Deliver effective instruction with a strong focus on the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing standards to students of varying abilities and skill levels. Responsible for effective techniques of classroom management/discipline and behavior reinforcement. Fulfill department teaming roles such as a mentoring partnership with a professional status colleague. Participate effectively in school-wide task forces and academic-vocational integration activities. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication skills required. Strong classroom management abilities to maintain a structured and engaging learning environment. Exceptional organizational skills required. Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues. Must be authorized to work in the United States. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Massachusetts Chapter 74 Licensure in Autobody Collision preferred or be eligible to attain a preliminary vocational technical teacher license. Possession of current Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) certification in at least two areas of automotive collision repair and refinishing (one of the areas must be painting / refinishing). Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to the subject matter. SEI Endorsement OR ability to achieve SEI endorsement within one year of hire. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Autobody Collision Instructor does not supervise any staff at Bay Path. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a 10 month position. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC. SALARY: $59,152.95 - $105,795.77 (step as appropriate on Teacher’s salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA). Salary : $59,153 - $105,796
