Bay Harbor of La Crescent was voted #1 assisted living in the area We are currently looking for a Part or Full time cook to join our winning team
Summary: Perform skilled meal preparation and cooking duties ensuring high quality standards of food production on a large scale, commercial-type basis. Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are adhered to and timing of meals is met. Work is performed according to specific policies and procedures, producing food according to menus and standardized recipes. Serving and clean up in a professional and friendly manner.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Dining Services Manager
Essential Functions
Follow and maintain standards of both sanitation and safety for personnel, food preparation, storage, kitchen equipment and all departments
Maintain required department records including but not limited to food temperatures, temperature of cooling units, cool down procedure, cleaning schedules, inventories, department procedures. Etc.
Receive and store food and supplies ensuring proper standards
Follow planned menus accurately and on schedule, determine quantity to be served
Qualifications
Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in large scale cooking operations
Knowledge of health and safety standards utilized in a food service operation
Ability to follow oral and written instructions, working independently and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate information to residents and employees of SpringBrook Village.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to follow security and safety regulations.
Education and/or Other Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
Must have valid driver's license and automobile
