Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper safety measures are followed
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging procedures as needed for comprehensive patient assessment
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology and medical documentation skills
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when required
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding is a plus
- Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients is desirable
- Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical documentation requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly using appropriate medical language
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory
