Job Summary/Basic Function
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.
- You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Job Duties
Job Duty
- Provide general reception service by greeting, directing, and assisting students, staff, and the public.
- Answer the route phone calls; operate the switchboard and manage voice/email messages.
- Schedule appointments, including testing, and maintain calendars for staff.
- Receive, sort, distribute, and assist with outgoing mail and internal documents across departments.
- Perform clerical support tasks including data entry, word processing, file organization, and document preparation.
- Photocopy, scan, assemble, and distribute materials, packets, forms, and brochures.
- Maintain office equipment such copiers and assist staff with usage.
- Monitor and manage front desk operations, including student check-in and directing inquires to appropriate staff or services.
- Assist with hospitality upkeep and maintain a welcoming office environment.
- Update and maintain bulletin boards, postings, and information displays.
- Track and manage item check-out, including recordkeeping and follow-up.
- Assist with mailings and outreach efforts, including co-advisor phone calls to students.
- Maintain records and procedures such as job line/lobe line updates and newspaper obituary tracking and system updates.
