DESCRIPTION
Bay Chamber Concerts & Music School is a nationally acclaimed chamber music organization and a cultural hub in Midcoast Maine. Bay Chamber presents more than 50 concerts each year by top musicians from the U.S. and abroad, including traditional chamber music ensembles, soloists and small groups from diverse traditions. The music school is a center of excellence staffed by experienced, dedicated faculty who teach over 350 students in lessons and ensemble classes. Bay Chamber is seeking candidates for a part-time Bookkeeper who will support the organization’s financial stability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
o Manage all bookkeeping functions for Bay Chamber Concerts & Music School
o Prepare and record AR/AP, pledges, ticket sales, tuition payments, and donations in Quickbooks (Bay Chamber uses two software companies to process ticket sales/donations (Bloomerang) and tuition (ASAP). Daily or weekly reports are pulled and then used to make Quickbook entries).
o Reconcile all accounts, including credit card, bank and investment statements
o Process accounts payable weekly
o Prepare month-end financial statements for Executive Director and Board of Trustees
o Manage year-end reporting and Maine State tax filing in partnership with the CPA
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have proven experience with non-profit accounting and the ability to work with great accuracy, independency, attention to detail and efficiency. Proven experience using Quickbooks and Excel is required.
COMPENSATION:
Pay is commensurate with experience. This is an hourly position at 10-15 hours per week. The time commitment will fluctuate depending on the time of year. This position may be remote, but some on site work is required. On-site training will take place in mid-April through early May.
