Job Summary
Bay Area Vet MRI is a Veterinary MRI diagnostic center dedicated to offering timely access to affordable MRI services for the pets of the Bay Area. We are a one Neurologist practice focusing on MRI scans with the ability to collaborate with local Veterinary Practices and Veterinary Emergency Hospitals.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Assistant/MRI Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to veterinarians, and ensuring the well-being of our patients. This role involves assisting with various veterinary procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and delivering exceptional pet care. If you have an interest in Neurology, MRI and Anesthesia, this is a great opportunity to learn the process first hand.
Responsibilities
- Assist Veterinarian during neuro examinations
- Preparing patient for MRI: Placement of IV Catheter, drawing blood, using Idexx in house analyzer lab equipment, restraining patient for intubation, proper patient positioning in MRI scanner.
- Perform animal husbandry tasks, such as cleaning kennels and walking patients.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including catheterization and monitoring vital signs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication.
- Ensure cleanliness of the veterinary clinic and kennel areas including: sweeping, mopping, laundry, dusting.
- Provide compassionate care to all animals in the facility.
- Answer phones to assist clients and referring Veterinarians.
- Answer emails in a professional and precise fashion.
- Making appointments for scheduled MRIs
- Keeping a running inventory of hospital supplies and ordering replacements as needed.
- Learn to operate the MRI machine and computer program. We will train you!
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is required.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary procedures is preferred.
- Strong skills in pet care, including handling various types of animals safely.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare.
- Computer skills including knowledge of Ezyvet and Outlook is a preferred.
- Phone etiquette including answering a phone call with professional greeting, placing caller on hold, and ability to answer commonly asked questions is required.

- Tuesday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
