Role Description The Medical Assistant role at Bay Area Pediatrics is a full-time, on-site position located in Stevensville, MD. The Medical Assistant supports pediatric providers by rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with examinations and procedures. Daily responsibilities include updating medical records, managing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. The role also involves communicating with families, handling basic administrative tasks. The Medical Assistant works closely with the clinical team to provide efficient, family-centered care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including taking vital signs, assisting with exams, and supporting routine pediatric procedures.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to pediatric care and ability to communicate clinical information clearly and accurately.
- Experience working in a Medical Office setting.
- Strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on compassionate, age-appropriate interaction and family-centered communication.
- Ability to manage and update Medical Records accurately, including electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification or registration (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Current CPR certification and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
