Position: Mobile Resource Center Operator
Reports to: Director of Cancer Resource Accessibility and Community Partnerships
Time Commitment: Part-time
Compensation: $35 / hour
This is an hourly contract position with an average of 10 hours per week.

Bay Area Cancer Connections is a nonprofit organization that supports anyone affected by breast or ovarian cancer, offering free, personalized services that inform and empower.
Position Summary:
The Mobile Resource Center Operator will drive a 23-foot bus that serves as a Mobile Resource Center (MRC) to various Bay Area locations as part of our community-based programming. The MRC is a traveling support hub designed to bring essential cancer resources directly to communities.
Primary responsibilities include MRC driving, maintenance reporting, and sanitizing as needed. This role requires the ability to safely operate a 23-foot vehicle and navigate busy Bay Area streets with confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the MRC to assigned locations for outreach events and client appointments, beginning and ending each shift at the vehicle storage facility in Redwood City.
- Scheduled dates and locations include:
- Jan 13: San Francisco General Hospital
- Jan 21: Women’s Cancer Resource Center (WCRC), Berkeley
- Feb 10: San Francisco General Hospital
- Mar 10: San Francisco General Hospital
- Mar 11: Women’s Cancer Resource Center, Berkeley
- Apr 14: San Francisco General Hospital
- Remain on standby for the duration of appointments and return the MRC to storage afterward.
- Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel to and from the storage facility.
- Ensure timely fueling and report any maintenance issues to the Executive Director.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients and staff, including light sanitizing as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record.
- Minimum one year of experience driving buses, passenger vans, or similar vehicles (behind-the-wheel training available).
- Knowledge of traffic laws and vehicle safety procedures.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a collaborative team mindset.
