What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Bay Alarm Company?
Position Summary: Support CFO in analysis and management reporting, including budgeting, financial statement analysis, and operational reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in data collection to support Financial Analyst team in ad hoc financial analysis projects and perform selected analysis as assigned. Work directly with senior finance professionals, including CFO, on ad hoc financial analysis projects.
- Work with Accounting Team to audit accounting transactions.
- Prepare Financial P&L Reporting for Company, Regions, Branches and Corporate Department through dashboard reporting system. Provide detail analysis for assigned Branches and Corporate Departments.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process by working with assigned Branches and Corporate Department heads on detail building of required data on input spreadsheets and uploads to dashboard system. Audit adherence to current year budget metrics and review budget presentation reports.
- Use dashboard reporting system to help Branch Managers and Departments heads analyze monthly financial results. Able to audit data presented.
- Assist in data collection to support quarterly submission of benchmarking data.
- All other miscellaneous responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous Excel modeling experience preferred.
- 0-1 years of prior experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. BA in finance or accounting preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and organization skills required.
- Must be a self-starter with good decision-making ability who is able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong desire to learn.
- Working knowledge of basic office equipment required.
- Beginning to Intermediate Excel skills required.
- Excel Modeling experience preferred but not required.
- Beginning level analysis preferred but not required.
- Familiarity in statistical analysis a plus.
- Programs/Systems: SBN, Access, DataRails and Sage Intacct knowledge a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, walking, talking, listening, working at a computer and travel.
- Occasional sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, crouching, kneeling and crawling.
- Occasional lifting/moving up to 15 pounds.
- Motor vehicle driving vision and computer usage vision required.
- Close, distance, color, depth perception and focusing vision required.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
