What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mathews Active Lifestyle Center Assistant position at BAY AGING?
Bay Aging is seeking an Active Lifestyle Center Assistant to provide support to the Center Manager and programs. Reports to the Center Manager. Schedule: 20 hours/week Pay Rate: $16.00/hr. Location: Mathews Active Lifestyle Center
- Assist the Center Manager in daily operation of the Meals Program and the Center operation.
- Assist with the sorting of shelf-stable meal boxes and bagging of fresh produce for clients.
• Empty all waste baskets as needed. This includes refuge from meals, restrooms, etc.
• Vacuum and/or sweep and mop, and clean all appropriate areas, including hallways, dining area, and restrooms.
- Clean all tables
- Thoroughly clean all areas of kitchen and defrost freezers as needed.
• All other duties as assigned by the Center Manager.
ABILITIES
- Take charge for all aspects of the Center operations.
- Communicate in small groups and one on one with a variety of people from seniors to outside speakers and vendors.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with center participants even in difficult circumstances.
- Be observant of changes in the physical and emotional conditions of participants to identify changing support needs and services.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office-based position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 15lbs, walking and climbing stairs). None of the essential functions of the position can be performed virtually.

- Proven ability to work and communicate with Senior Citizens.
- High School diploma or equivalent
FLSA status: This is a non-exempt position.
