Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Position Summary:
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Med Surg Ortho/Neuro Registered Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team. The RN will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions, utilizing critical thinking and clinical expertise to promote recovery and optimal outcomes. This role involves working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing both direct patient care and support for patients across multiple care units when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with facility policies, standards of care, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Accurately document all nursing care, medications, and interventions per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient condition, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in status or critical situations.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Provide specialized care to orthopedic and neurological patients, including those recovering from spinal surgery, stroke, fractures, or joint replacement.
• Maintain a strong focus on patient mobility, pain management, fall prevention, and overall safety.
• Support performance improvement and shared governance initiatives to promote clinical excellence.
• Float to other units as needed to support patient care demands and facility operations.
• Uphold infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards at all times.

Qualifications:

• Active Wisconsin RN License (required).
• Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required).
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (required).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg, Ortho, or Neuro RN experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in EMR documentation (Epic or Cerner preferred).

Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract

Pay: $2,450.00 - $2,550.00 per week
