Medical Technologist II - Technical Specialist/LIS Coordinator - Laboratory Services

SUMMARY:

Under the leadership of the Laboratory Director & Coordinator, ensure that all activities & assets of assigned section(s) are effectively managed in order to achieve departmental & organizational goals. This includes supervision of personnel performing those activities and charge capture/compliance duties.

Responsible for procedures on various patient specimens giving careful attention to safety, quality assurance and regulatory guidelines including documentation of results. Work closely with LIS Administrator for data management; assist Director & Coordinator with QA, PI, regulatory and other duties necessary for the smooth operation of the department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology or related degree or equivalent level of experience. Must possess sufficient science classes to meet CAP/CLIA requirements.

Experience: Minimum 3 years Clinical Lab, LIS, and POCT experience, proven advanced technical, supervisory, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Certifications: MLS (ASCP) or equivalent

Other: Section Specialty Certification, Working knowledge of computers and laboratory equipment

Safety Sensitive Designation:

This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

Must be able to respond and handle critical, highly stressful situations including providing CPR and code related Lab functions.
