Overview:

Building Material Salesperson is tasked with promoting and selling products to existing and potential contractors, builders and homeowners, engaging clients to understand their needs, and providing suitable product recommendations. The role involves traveling to various locations locally, conducting cold calls, arranging meetings and maintaining strong customer relationships to achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Promote Products: Actively Market building materials with existing clients and potential customers.

Understand Customer Needs: Engage with clients to assess their requirements and recommend appropriate products.

Conduct Cold Calls: Reach out to potential clients to generate leads and expand the customer base.

Arrange Meetings: Schedule and conduct meetings with clients to discuss their needs and present product options.

Maintain Client Relationships: Foster strong relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business.

Provide Support: Offer ongoing assistance and information to clients regarding product features and benefits.

Achieve Sale Goals: Set and met sales targets to contribute to the company’s growth.

Generate Leads and close sales: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with timely follow up.

Skills and Qualifications:

Communication Skills: Strong Communicate skills are essential to effectively communicate with team members and customers.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with building materials and market trends is important.

Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate prices and terms to reach favorable agreements.

Self Motivation: Capable of working independently and taking initiative to achieve sales goals.

Strong Math Skills: Ability to perform cost estimates and takeoffs on a project by project basis.

Work Environment: We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Building Material Salesperson to join our team. The role is crucial for driving sales in the building materials industry and requires a blend of sales acumen, customer service skills, product knowledge and relationship building. This role requires both office work and travel to meet with clients. Occasional attendance at trade shows or conventions may be required.

Qualifications:

• Proven Work experience minimum of 3-5 year as a building material salesperson or similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of building products and their applications
• Ability to build relationships, negotiate contracts
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
