Bauhinia Search Partners is partnering with a fast-growing technology startup to identify an exceptional Strategy & Operations professional to join its New York team.

This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong strategic thinking with a genuine operator mindset. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems but is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves, building processes, launching initiatives, working through ambiguity, and helping a rapidly scaling company execute.

This is not a pure strategy role. The successful candidate will be someone who wants to be close to the business and take meaningful ownership across a broad range of company priorities.

What You’ll Do

• Partner closely with senior leadership on high-priority strategic and operational initiatives.
• Own cross-functional projects from initial problem definition through execution.
• Analyze business performance, identify opportunities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Build and improve operational processes as the company scales.
• Work across teams including product, go-to-market, finance, people, and other business functions.
• Develop frameworks, models, dashboards, and analyses to support decision-making.
• Help leadership evaluate new initiatives, opportunities, and areas of investment.
• Step into ambiguous problems where there may not yet be an established process or playbook.
• Drive initiatives forward independently and ensure decisions translate into execution.

What We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have demonstrated that they can operate inside a fast-moving business environment.

Strong backgrounds may include:

• Strategy & Operations
• Business Operations
• Founder’s Office
• Chief of Staff / Associate Chief of Staff
• High-growth startup operations
• Product or Growth Operations
• Management consulting followed by an operating role
• Investment banking or investing followed by meaningful startup operating experience

The ideal candidate will likely have approximately 3–7 years of relevant experience, although we are more focused on the quality and relevance of experience than a specific number.

You should be someone who:

• Is highly analytical and intellectually curious.
• Can move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
• Thrives in environments where priorities can change quickly.
• Has strong business judgment and executive communication skills.
• Takes ownership without needing significant structure or oversight.
• Enjoys building rather than simply advising.
• Has experience working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders.
• Is excited by the pace, responsibility, and ambiguity that come with an earlier-stage company.

What Will Stand Out

We are especially interested in candidates who can point to examples where they have personally built, launched, improved, or owned something within a growing organization.

A strong consulting or financial-services foundation can be valuable, but candidates who have spent their careers exclusively advising large organizations without subsequent operating experience are less likely to be the right fit.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range is $110,000–$180,000, depending on experience and level, plus meaningful equity.

Location

New York City. Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative hybrid environment with regular in-person interaction with the team.
