What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Bus Driver position at Baugo Community Schools?
Job Summary:
- Baugo drivers are to report to work on time and ready to complete their routes. Their attire must be suitable attire for transporting school children.
- Everyday before departing a thorough pre-trip inspection must be completed. Any needed repairs should be reported immediately using appropriate forms.
- Baugo drivers should be in the "line-up" ready to receive riders at least 5 minutes before school dismissal.
- Routes are established at the beginning of each school year and any changes to that route must be discussed with the Transportation Department before it is implemented.
- Baugo drivers are expected to supervise their riders at all times and never leave students alone on a bus.
- Baugo drivers are to keep the interior of their buses clean and free from debris.
- Baugo drivers are expected to be safe drivers and obey all laws and regulations governing their conduct.
- Baugo drivers are expected to be courteous and use appropriate language at all times.
- Weapons – Baugo Community Schools’ employees are not allowed to have weapons (concealed or otherwise) in their possession or on their person, on school property or when performing their Baugo Community School duties. Weapons include, but are not limited to guns or knives. Failure to adhere strictly to this directive is considered grounds for termination of employment.
- Use of intoxicating liquor or other controlled substance is just cause for immediate termination.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, must have a valid CDL license, must demonstrate a pattern of regular and timely attendance.
