Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain geothermal heating and cooling systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably.
- Service a wide range of refrigeration equipment including ammonia refrigeration systems, HVAC units, air conditioning systems, and related mechanical components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, HVAC design plans, and system manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
- Perform plumbing work related to HVAC and refrigeration systems, including pipe fitting, welding, and leak detection.
- Conduct routine maintenance on boilers, pumps, compressors, thermostats, and other mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed service logs, inspection reports, and documentation of repairs for compliance and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in construction or property maintenance environments with a focus on HVAC/R systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in appliance repair, equipment repair, welding, and boiler maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing techniques including ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters is essential.
- Valid driver's license (including driver if applicable) with a clean driving record for field service operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in the field; excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Knowledge of property maintenance standards related to air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and mechanical equipment.
