POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the daily maintenance and facilities operations of all BCI buildings. The maintenance technician repairs, installs, adjusts or maintains industrial and processing machinery. This position reports to the EHS & Maintenance Director.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on compressors, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines.
Locates sources of problems by overserving mechanical devices in operations; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies needed to accomplish job results.
Performs regular and preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detects faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Valid driver’s license with positive driving record to drive company vehicles.
Regular, reliable and on-time attendance.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of relevant experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, CNC and PLC equipment.
Must be detail oriented and able to multitask and prioritize demands.
Self-starter, ability to resolve issues and research solutions.
Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and decipher electrical and ladder diagrams.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and One Note).
VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with equipment maintenance in a metal fabrication environment.
Associate degree in Mechatronics, Integrated Machining Technology, Automation or other related field.

Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance.
Normal working schedule: Monday through Friday with a flexible work schedule available. Core business hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, occasionally overtime and weekend hours will be required. In addition, this job occasionally requires that the employee be “on-call” and therefore must be available, and to arrive at the location of employment within one hour from the time of emergency call. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee is required to wear eye protection when walking through the plant.
