Automotive Refinish Painter
We are in need of an experienced and highly skilled painter who can perform high-quality refinishing with minimal direction and oversight. The Painter is responsible for painting all assigned vehicles and restoring damaged areas to their pre-accident condition, following the written repair order. This role plays a key part in delivering on Batts Body & Paint's promise of speed, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities
- Participate in developing a proper repair plan for each vehicle with the team.
- Work in harmony with the production schedule to meet deadlines.
- Handle surface preparation with a sense of urgency and attention to detail to avoid waste and rework. This includes sanding, masking, and priming vehicles prior to painting.
- Assist in identifying and sourcing paint and materials as necessary.
- Select, mix, and apply paint, primer, and clear coat to vehicles, following manufacturer specifications and company standards to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Perform color matching and blending to achieve seamless results.
- Inspect painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any imperfections like runs, sags, or unpainted areas.
- Buff and polish finished surfaces to achieve a like-new finish.
- Maintain all tools and equipment, including spray guns, and keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Consistently utilize all required safety equipment, including a respirator, and follow proper procedures in compliance with regulations.
- Adhere to all requirements for the proper disposal of hazardous waste.

- Knowledge of manufacturer specifications for application and blending.

- Strong communication skills to coordinate with prep staff and other team members.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Automotive Painter based in Greensboro, NC. In this role, the Automotive Painter will perform painting and refinishing tasks on vehicles, including surface preparation, color application, and final finish. Responsibilities include inspecting vehicles for damage, mixing and matching paint to specifications, applying primer, and ensuring a high-quality finish. The Automotive Painter will also maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Automotive Painting, Surface Preparation, and Paint Matching
- Experience in Color Application, Clear Coating, and Final Finishing
- Knowledge of Paint Booth Operations, Tools, and Safety Standards
- Ability to Inspect for Damage and Attention to Detail in Refinishing Work
- Good time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Physical dexterity and stamina to work on vehicles
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
- Training or certification in automotive painting is beneficial
Starting Pay will be based on experience.
