About the Role
We are seeking reliable Dispatchers to coordinate patient transportation for veterans using the VA’s VetRide scheduling system. Dispatchers are the communication hub between VA staff, drivers, and patients — ensuring safe, on-time, and efficient trips.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assign transport requests through VetRide Third Party Portal.
- Conduct daily schedule reconciliation calls with VA staff.
- Communicate with drivers using two-way radios, GPS, and mobile systems.
- Track and document cancellations, no-shows, and wait times.
- Arrange backup coverage for vehicle breakdowns or service disruptions.
- Report incidents, accidents, and delays promptly to supervisors and VA staff.
- Maintain accurate records of trip completions, mileage, and driver logs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in logistics, transportation, or healthcare administration preferred).
- Prior experience as a dispatcher, scheduler, or transportation coordinator highly preferred.
- Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a 24/7 healthcare transportation environment.
- Must pass federal background checks, health screenings, and annual compliance training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
