Vehicle Licensing Specialist –
Battle Ground Auto License is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Vehicle Licensing Specialist to join our team.
This position is an in-person role with 8 hour day shifts. We are looking for someone reliable, professional, and ready to commit to a consistent schedule in a busy customer-service office.
This is an entry-level licensing position with hands-on training and a clear path toward certification through the Washington State Department of Licensing. The right person for this role will be friendly with customers, accurate with details, comfortable learning state rules and procedures, and able to stay calm in a fast-paced office environment.
This is not just a general front desk job. Vehicle and vessel licensing requires accuracy, accountability, strong customer service, and the ability to learn and apply detailed federal, state, and county regulations.
What You’ll Do
Assist customers at the front counter and over the phone
Process vehicle and vessel licensing, title, and registration transactions
Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Enter transactions into the Department of Licensing system
Collect fees, issue receipts, and balance/reconcile your cash drawer
Maintain and account for inventory items such as tabs, plates, permits, and related materials
Provide clear licensing guidance to customers, dealers, and partnering agencies
Learn and apply Department of Licensing rules, state law, county requirements, and office procedures
Support the licensing team with related tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
At least 4 years of office, front desk, administrative, or customer-service experience
Strong cash handling skills
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working with computers and learning new systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to stay professional and patient with the public
Able to work independently while also being part of a team
Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
Able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive computer/data-entry tasks
Must be willing and able to become certified as a Licensing Specialist within 12 months of hire
Preferred Experience
Experience with DOL DRIVES or another government database
Previous licensing, title, registration, banking, accounting, or regulated-office experience
Experience handling confidential or sensitive customer information
Schedule
8 hour shifts
Day shifts only
No evenings
Consistent attendance and reliability are required
Saturday availability is required

$17.50 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
