Position Responsibilities:
- Assist teacher with planning and implementation of the Standards of Quality for Preschool Curriculum.
- Assist the teacher/family educator in the following areas:
- Assist in writing the schedule and weekly lesson plan.
- Preparation of the classroom for daily activities.
- Assist with classroom activities.
- Observe and identify children's needs and give the information to the classroom teacher.
- Assist the teacher with maintaining charts and records.
- Assist with general clean-up and storage of supplies, materials and equipment.
- Assist in supervising outdoor activities on the playground.
- Assist in making home visits and parent conferences.
- Communicate with teachers and support staff using a team concept approach.
- Attend training sessions, meetings, in-service trainings, parent meetings.
- Obtain a substitute in one's own absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent; or CDA (Child Development Associate) credential; or the equivalent as approved by the State Board (120 clock hours).
- Prior experience in pre-school or early childhood programs preferred.
- Health examination required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be flexible and organized and willing to work as a team with other staff members.
- Must be physically able to bend, stoop, etc. to assist children.
Salary: $21.50/hour
Contract: 166.5 day calendar
SCHOOL SAFETY CLEARANCE: The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment. All fees required for this check (estimated $73.00) will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.

Salary : $22
