Position Summary: The Seasonal Assistant Warehouse Technician is responsible for aiding in the coordination and oversight of warehouse management which is a critical hub for maintaining the open spaces under the jurisdiction of Battery Park City Authority (BPCA). The warehouse houses and manages inventory, various equipment, both onsite and offsite, and ensures the general safety of operations at the atrium. The Seasonal Assistant Warehouse Technician should be aware of sustainable practices and take proactive steps towards applying these principles in their daily work. Essential Duties:
- Assist in the management of warehouse activities such as systems management, receiving, atrium operations and deliveries.
- Assist in receiving, inventorying, and stocking of products timely and efficiently.
- Assist in verifying purchase orders, material/product condition and quantities and resolving issues that may arise.
- Assist in inventory management such asreceipt confirmation, recordkeeping, and/or stocking
- Assist in daily atrium operations such as parking, equipment safety checks, and reorganizing spaceAssist with moving bulk deliveries throughout BPCA worksites
- Effectively collaborate and coordinate with members of the procurement team, department heads, vendors and other BPCA staff for warehouse functions
- Safely and effectively operate powered and non-powered vehicles and equipment such as electric trucks, forklift, and pallet jack
- Assist in programmed and permitted events as assigned including pre- and post-event deliveries, setup and collections
- Collaborate with Assistant Warehouse Technicians and other staff to complete assigned tasks
- Identify and report issues timely and appropriately such as housekeeping, broken pallets, proper storage, damaged or broken equipment and any safety concerns
- Use personal protective equipment as appropriate and maintain a high standard for workplace safety
- Always maintain professionalism, including when interacting with the public
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous warehouse, inventorying, and/or stocking experience
- Valid U.S Driver’s License
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft 365, network files, and inventory software. Certifications and/or trainings relevant to warehouse tasks preferred
- Experience working in highly used, fast-paced warehouse setting with one (1) or more years of experience preferred
- Experience with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, preferred
- Flexible availability, as needed preferred
- Safety trainings, such as OSHA preferred
