What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Lead position at Batteries Plus?
The Inventory Lead will support the direction of work of the Inventory Control Team for Batteries Plus. The Inventory Lead will ensure that optimum levels of inventory and materials are maintained to meet all productivity schedules and needs through cycle counts, audits, location and SKU management.

Responsibilities:
Inventory Control
- Prioritize, schedule, delegate, and lead inventory control functions to maintain optimum levels of inventory and required materials needed to support shipping activities.
- Review reported overage and shortage claims for research and resolution with stored inventory.
- Analyze stock levels of materials by slotting, replenishing and consolidation to minimize total inventory levels while still meeting orders, production schedules, forecasts and customer delivery requirements.
- Maintain an accurate perpetual inventory system by:
- Perform cycle counts to verify actual against recorded inventory levels, research and make adjustments as needed.
- Assist warehousing with maintaining inventory levels that optimize storage space.
- Recommend ways to optimize inventory control procedures.
- Inspect the levels of warehouse supplies and customer material to identify shortages and overages
- Collaborate with warehouse team and other staff to ensure business goals are met
- Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
- Maintain all procedure documents for Inventory Control function.
Leadership
- Support the training of other team members.
- Assist in guiding and delegating work.
- Provide Supervisor and Management with feedback on associate performance and development.
Qualifications:
- H.S. diploma/equivalent
- 2 years of warehouse experience
- Working knowledge of a variety of warehousing and logistics concepts, practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Google and WMS technology with strong Excel skills.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. A basic understanding of accounting procedures and financial statements.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special events.
- Able to become forklift certified, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in business management, supply chain or logistics.
