Bakery Clerk

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while assisting with the sale of bakery products. You will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to an inviting shopping experience.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their bakery selections.
• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions accurately.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell bakery items to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery display cases and work areas.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations during food preparation and handling.
• Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including baking, decorating, and packaging products.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking items as necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the bakery department.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or food industry setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with food safety practices is essential.
• Experience operating a cash register or POS system (Square POS experience is a plus).
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor to effectively assist customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn about bakery products and techniques for food preparation.
• A passion for providing excellent customer service and helping others.
