Position Summary
The Superintendent coordinates all site activities of the project as defined by the project
documents. This includes Subcontractors, Quality Assurance, Safety, Equipment Rentals,
organizing Field Employees for self-perform tasks, and coordinating deliveries, all while
adhering to the Construction Schedule and Budget.
Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and direct the overall strategy of the project site to build the project.
- Coordinates scheduling with the Project Manager.
- Conducts Subcontractor Pre-Construction meetings on site to discuss their scope of work and provides insight into the logistics and safety of the project.
- Manages Subcontractors currently performing work and performs a Quality Control check of installed materials as work progresses.
- Creates a materials list for self-performed scopes of work, makes material orders, and verifies the quantities of actual delivered materials.
- Plans and coordinates company labor for self-performed work and verifies work hours logged on weekly time sheets.
- Create and maintain a Safety plan for the overall safety on the project, including on-site safety meetings during construction.
- Monitor all equipment, tools, and rentals.
- Participate in weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor and Subcontractor meetings.
- Creates daily reports for all work activities, weather, and site conditions of the project.
- Develop lasting relationships with Subcontractors/Suppliers, Rental Companies, Architects, Engineers, and Owners for potential future work.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of experience as a Commercial Superintendent.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, emails, etc.
- First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 10 certificate.
- Possesses good communication skills (written and verbal).
- General understanding of all construction scopes in Commercial Construction.
- Familiarity with the layout of site items, building pads, and interior construction.
- Possesses physical ability to climb stairs or scaffolding, walk into excavations or rough terrain, walk long distances throughout the day, lift/carry 50 pounds, withstand hot or cold days of being outside to perform work duties, or other physically demanding tasks.
