Role Description This full-time, on-site HVAC Installer role is based in Elgin, IL and involves installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial, industrial, and retail facilities across the Chicagoland area. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans and specifications, assembling and installing HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls, and performing start-up, testing, and adjustments to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely. The role includes diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting work performed in accordance with company and regulatory standards. HVAC Installers collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other trades to complete jobs on schedule and within budget, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Team members interact with customers and site representatives in a professional manner, supporting Battaglia’s commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications

• Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction, including clear communication, professionalism on job sites, and responsiveness to client needs.
• Proficient Troubleshooting skills for HVAC/R systems, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control issues and recommending effective solutions.
• Experience with Maintenance & Repair of HVAC equipment, including performing corrective work, replacements, and system upgrades in commercial and industrial settings.
• Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance tasks such as inspections, cleaning, adjustments, and performance checks to ensure reliable system operation.
• EPA certification for handling refrigerants (or ability to obtain), with knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Prior HVAC installation experience, preferably in commercial or industrial environments; familiarity with reading blueprints and technical documentation.
• Understanding of electrical fundamentals related to HVAC systems and safe use of hand and power tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in HVAC/R is beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to work on-site at various Chicagoland locations.
• Ability to work safely, lift and move equipment as required, and follow company safety policies and procedures.
