LOGISTICS PLANNER:
Job Description
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day load planning in Batory Foods TMS. Tactical relationships related to the day-to-day execution of the Batory Foods customer and supplier account(s). Ensuring proactive communication to all internal and external Batory customers. Tracking and tracing of all exception, outbound and inbound shipments.
Candidates must be able to work in-office at our Rosemont, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Freight Assignments - Exceed customer on-time pick-up and delivery expectations; proactive analysis to prevent service failures, executing inbound and outbound movement.
- Customer Relationship - Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt, and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, etc.
- Carrier Relationship - Develop carrier relationship and cover loads.
- Financial Procedures and Operating Metrics – Manage accessorial request in in TMS.
- Leverages knowledge and understanding of Modes, Rates, Weights, Volumes, Pallets, Class etc. based on Customer's shipping requirements.
- Verify shipment suitability, e.g. weight, size, product, special shipping requirements and make necessary adjustments.
- Optimize Customer Orders into shipments in the most cost-effective way.
- Coordinate and direct shipments and deliveries, Carrier equipment utilization.
- Communicate and gain approval for expedite shipments or any rate exceeding account specific benchmark threshold.
- Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential to facilitate the life cycle of an order.
Education and Formal Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Logistics / Business/ Supply Chain) required.
- 5 years’ experience in logistics.
- Experience in TMS and/or BluJay Solutions, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
- The ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups. Able to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally. Able to overcome obstacles to cooperation and to foster harmonious relations.
- Detailed oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Effective communicator both oral and Good listener.

Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
