What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapy/Rehab Tech- PRN outpatient and lymphedema position at Baton Rouge General?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Technician (Rehab Tech) to join our therapy team. In this role, you will support licensed therapists by assisting with patient care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and helping with clerical tasks that keep the department running smoothly. Essential Job Functions:
1. Support Patient Care & Teamwork
- Assist licensed therapists in multiple rehab settings with routine patient care activities.
- Provide safe and timely patient transportation to and from therapy sessions.
2. Maintain a Safe & Organized Environment
- Provide hands-on assistance to therapists during patient treatments as directed.
- Monitor supply levels, notify staff of needs, and restock supplies appropriately.
- Clean, sanitize, and properly store therapy equipment according to guidelines.
3. Clerical & Administrative Support
- Answer and route phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Schedule patient treatments when assigned.
- Assist with charting, filing, copying, faxing, and discharging tasks as needed.
4. Other Duties as Assigned
- Complete special projects or assignments by designated deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred; education in a related field may be substituted for experience.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate, dependable, and motivated to provide quality patient care.
