What You Will Do:
Work collaboratively with and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to deliver patient care that improves the quality of life for patients and families.
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, feeding, hygiene, and mobility assistance
- Assist with patient comfort measures and perform technical skills in line with care plans
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to primary nurse promptly
- Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes
- Respond to patient call lights and anticipate patient needs
- Handle specimen collection and transport following universal precautions
- Retrieve medications from pharmacy per policy
- Document patient care activities, including vital signs, intake/output, and progress notes
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute data to care planning
- Perform unit clerk duties such as greeting visitors, tracking charges, processing physician orders, and maintaining communication
- Keep patient care areas stocked and orderly
- Follow safety, environmental, and infection control procedures, including waste removal and aseptic techniques
- Participate in emergency response efforts and support patient transport
