What You Will Do:

Provide excellent customer service during the emergency room patient access and intake process, working closely with and under the supervision of a registered nurse to support patient care and improve quality of life for patients and families. Serve as a central point of communication and clerical coordination within the Emergency Department.

• Accurately identify patients and verify data before applying armbands; correct any discrepancies before proceeding

• Handle telephone and message communications with professionalism and clarity

• Prepare, compile, and maintain all unit records and documentation needed for daily operations

• Participate in the registration, admission, and discharge processes, ensuring proper documentation and communication

• Provide both direct and indirect patient care as directed by RN or physician to maintain patient flow

• Assist in assessing and managing patients under supervision, including performing procedures such as splints, skin preps, and venipuncture after competency validation

• Support with specimen collection, patient admission/discharge/transfer, and assist in emergency responses and minor procedures

• Maintain patient privacy and follow safety, HIPAA, and infection control protocols at all times
