The Senior Cook is responsible for the advanced preparation and cooking of meals for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions. This position plays a key role in ensuring food is safe, appealing, and meets dietary needs for various age populations served.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Culinary Techniques: Prepare complex dishes, entrees, casseroles, and specialty items using advanced cooking methods. Plan & Execute Production: Coordinate meal production schedules to ensure timely and efficient food service. Deliver High Quality: Cook according to detailed recipes, maintaining high standards in taste, presentation, and consistency. Maintain Safety & Sanitation: Ensure compliance with food safety standards in all aspects of preparation, storage, and kitchen hygiene. Lead by Example: Demonstrate sound judgment and organization in daily operations and help guide junior kitchen staff. Be Adaptable: Perform other duties as assigned to support overall kitchen and hospital operations.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in commercial or institutional cooking preferred. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of advanced cooking procedures Ability to follow complex recipes. Familiarity with safe food handling and kitchen equipment Creative flair in food presentation
