About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Marketing to build and own Baton’s marketing function from the ground up.
This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role for someone who wants to join a profitable, fast-moving startup and build something lasting — not just manage an existing machine.
You’ll lead strategy, execution, and measurement across all marketing channels with a heavy focus on demand generation, lead acquisition, content, and brand positioning within home services.
What You’ll Do
- Build and own Baton’s marketing strategy across content, digital, brand, and partner marketing
- Generate inbound leads for both sides of the network:
New buyers (exclusive referral recipients)
New referrers (companies who send us non-qualified calls)
- Build industry-specific campaigns for pest control, wildlife, HVAC, plumbing, lawn care, etc.
- Lead content strategy: case studies, landing pages, email nurturing, trade show follow-up, social, ads, and SEO
- Launch data-driven performance marketing campaigns (Google, Facebook, paid industry placements, etc.)
- Develop clear marketing funnels with attribution tracking and reporting
- Partner with leadership to refine messaging and positioning
- Manage contractors / agencies as needed (design, copy, paid media)
- Eventually hire and build a full marketing team as we scale
Ideal Experience
You don’t need to come from home services, but you do need to love growth, experimentation, and performance.
- 5 years in growth, demand gen, or B2B marketing
- Experience in lead generation, digital advertising, or SEO
- Successful track record owning KPIs around CAC, conversion, ROAS, pipeline growth
- Comfortable in fast-paced, scrappy startup environments
- Bias toward action — test, measure, iterate
- Exceptional written communication and messaging instincts
- Bonus: experience in home services, marketplaces, or pay-per-lead businesses
