Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled EMT-Basic to join our emergency medical services team. The EMT-Basic will be responsible for providing pre-hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and non-critical patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and emergency procedures to effectively assist in patient care during transport to various healthcare facilities. With this position you will work out of a brand new truck.
Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform physical examinations to assess the condition of patients and determine necessary interventions.
- Manage airways effectively, ensuring adequate ventilation for patients as needed.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of anatomy to assist in the assessment and treatment of patients.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection while providing care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in emergency situations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assist in heavy lifting and moving of patients safely and efficiently.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments provided, and any changes in patient condition accurately.
- This position is primarily for our full-time transfer rig.
Requirements
- Certification as an EMT-Basic from an accredited program.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to emergency care.
- Ability to perform physical examinations competently.
- Experience with airway management techniques is essential.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and prolonged standing during shifts.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
