Position Overview
Bath Township is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the Service Department. This position provides administrative and customer service support while assisting with office operations, records management, scheduling, and communication with staff and the public.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This position works independently under the general direction of the Service Director and plays a key role in ensuring efficient department operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Support
- Compose, prepare, proofread, and distribute a variety of office correspondence including letters, memos, forms, reports, and departmental communications.
- Prepare department payroll calculations and process administrative forms including purchase requisitions, expenditure vouchers, travel forms, and personnel requests.
- Maintain and organize manual and electronic filing systems, databases, personnel records, and training files.
- File, distribute, and process incoming and outgoing paperwork and mail.
- Assist with maintaining office supply inventories and coordinate maintenance or repair of office equipment.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Customer Service and Office Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers by providing excellent customer service.
- Answer phones, screen and direct calls, take messages, and respond to questions from staff and the public.
- Provide information and assistance to management, employees, and community members.
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and meeting locations as needed.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach in all interactions.
Required Skills and Abilities

Qualifications
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of related administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license
Preferred:
- Previous municipal, government, or public service experience preferred
Physical Requirements
To perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to:
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Use hands and fingers for computer and office tasks
- Communicate effectively through speaking and hearing
- Occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Read documents and distinguish colors when necessary
- Possess close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
