- Perform radiographic exams in accordance with department protocols.
- Educate patients on imaging procedures and answer questions.
- Assist patients in preparing and positioning for imaging.
- Operate imaging equipment properly and safely.
- Support physicians as needed during imaging procedures.
- Accurately record all patient information in the radiology systems.
- Evaluate radiographic images for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Ensure patient radiation protection during procedures.
- Maintain adequate supplies of radiographic equipment and materials.
- Disinfect imaging equipment and exam rooms after each use.
- Report equipment malfunctions or the need for repairs to the appropriate personnel.
- Label and document images in the radiology information system.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited institution.
- Valid Virginia License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Knowledge of radiology protocols, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with radiology software and systems.
- Current CPR certification.
- Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients, often with assistance.
- Ability to stand for long periods and assist in patient transfer.
- Capacity to perform bending, stooping, and reaching as needed for imaging procedures.
- Ability to operate radiographic equipment and lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., portable imaging equipment).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
