Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job type: PRN Job location: Covington, VA. Job Summary:
Bath Community Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiologic Technologist to provide quality imaging and contribute to delivering first-rate care to our patients. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a collaborative disposition, and a commitment to patient care. The Radiologic Technologist will conduct radiographic exams in compliance with physician directions and department protocols. A key part of the role is assessing image diagnostics with good judgment and working effectively with physicians and staff to ensure precise patient care. Objectives of This Role:
  • Perform radiographic exams in accordance with department protocols.
  • Educate patients on imaging procedures and answer questions.
  • Assist patients in preparing and positioning for imaging.
  • Operate imaging equipment properly and safely.
  • Support physicians as needed during imaging procedures.
  • Accurately record all patient information in the radiology systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate radiographic images for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Ensure patient radiation protection during procedures.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of radiographic equipment and materials.
  • Disinfect imaging equipment and exam rooms after each use.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or the need for repairs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Label and document images in the radiology information system.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Virginia License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Knowledge of radiology protocols, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with radiology software and systems.
  • Current CPR certification.
Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, move, and position patients, often with assistance.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and assist in patient transfer.
  • Capacity to perform bending, stooping, and reaching as needed for imaging procedures.
  • Ability to operate radiographic equipment and lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., portable imaging equipment).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
