Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our clinical team and provide high-quality care to patients in our Rural Health Clinics, primarily located in Covington, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be passionate about rural healthcare and committed to building long-term relationships with patients while delivering comprehensive, evidence-based primary care. - Obtain complete health histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
- Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans, including preventive care and health maintenance strategies.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses for patients across the lifespan.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state laws and clinical best practices.
- Coordinate care with specialists, ancillary providers, and community resources as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to medical staff and participate in the orientation of new clinical providers.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds (Board certification required within 3 years of hire if eligible).
- Current Virginia medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- Current DEA certification.
- Current BLS certification (required).
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications (required but may be obtained upon hire).
- Must be insurable for malpractice coverage.
