Position Overview
Bath Central School District seeks a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and New York State regulations. The Speech-Language Pathologist will support students with communication disorders that impact educational performance and will collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers to promote student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students referred through the Committee on Special Education (CSE) process.
- Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive written evaluation reports.
- Develop and implement individualized speech and language therapy programs based on student needs and IEP goals.
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language services in individual and group settings.
- Participate in CSE meetings and contribute to the development and review of IEPs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, counselors, and administrators to support student achievement.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, progress reports, and service documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of classroom strategies that support communication development and academic success.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations and district policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
- Participate in professional development activities and district initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- New York State License in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- Experience working with school-age students preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and CSE procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary educational team.
Terms of Employment
- Salary starting at $53,000 but is negotiable
- Work year and conditions as established by the collective bargaining agreement.
