- Supervision & Coordination: Under general supervision, you will plan, coordinate, and oversee solid waste management activities. This includes supervising crews involved in the operation of heavy equipment for refuse collection, recyclables collection, brush collection, transportation, and other related activities.
- Incident Response: Efficiently respond to various situations, including vehicle incidents, customer service complaints, on-the-job injuries, and safety violations, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Operational Duties: Operate a motor vehicle as part of your daily duties, which includes the collection of residential trash, recyclables or yard waste.
- Plans work schedules, assigns work to route monitors, supervisors, and work crews.
- Supervises crew activities in the field;
- Performs quality inspections of work performed and initiates corrective action to meet accepted service levels.
- Supervises subordinate employees including coaching, counseling, training and performance evaluations.
- Ensure safety programs are implemented and communicated and work complies with all safety regulations.
- Serves as main point of contact on work crews for citizens and residents;
- Reinforces a safety culture and continually seeks to expand safety knowledge through training, mentoring, self-study or other methods of continuous learning.
- Investigates, documents and reports safety issues;
- Clearly communicates safety expectations;
- Resolves safety-related matters in a timely manner;
- Complies with the safety competencies.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to use personal computers, word processing, spreadsheet software and database applications to prepare reports, documents
