What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESL PROGRAM ASSESSMENT PROCTOR PTE II position at Bates Technical College?
This position supports the ESL program with placement testing development, review and proctor. This is a grant funded position up to 17 hours/week.
Essential Functions
- Contact and make appointments with perspective, new and countinuing ESL students with placement tests.
- Help ESL test takers accurately complete admission and registration forms.
- Proctor the classroom and testing lab to assist ESL students and test takers.
- Distribute materials, monitor students work and provide feedback to ensure the students complete the ESL placmenet tests.
- Work with other ESL department members to keep track of student testing needs, schedules and results.
Non-Essential/Other Functions
- Accountable for keeping personal development up-to-date; adding to skills and knowledge through courses that may be available through the Bates Technical College courses, professional development committees, etc.
- Participate actively and collaboratively on committees for college as needed including but not limited to staff recruitment, college councils, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by Bates Technical College local union.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School graduation or GED, and;
- One year of customer service, administrative support, or office experience.
Allowable Substitution
If necessary, alternative combinations of education and experience may be evaluated by Human Resources for comparability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree and one year of relevant experience
- Communicate in bilingual including but not limited to Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Korean and etc.
