Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Controller to lead the accounting and financial functions for two of our businesses in the Atlanta area. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to build and shape departments, implement financial infrastructure, and influence strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

Company A (Larger Team Environment):

  • Lead and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the accounting team, supporting professional development and fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies across the accounting function.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Support the annual audit process, acting as the primary liaison with auditors.

Company B (Smaller Team / Lean Office):

  • Serve as the senior-most financial leader, handling all high-level accounting and financial operations.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on HR and payroll functions, including compliance and process optimization.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and policies to support financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in building a scalable financial and HR infrastructure to support future growth.
  • Lead annual budgeting and planning processes and support the year-end audit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in WIP reporting
  • Experience working in both structured and lean environments; ability to pivot between strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, process improvements, and audit management.
  • Familiarity with HR/payroll functions in a small office environment is a strong plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
