Dispatcher

This 12 hour per shift position works a PM schedule as follows: F-S-S-W-TH-M-TU pm for a total of 72 hours a pay period.

Education:

Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent, working knowledge of computer information systems and have good knowledge of office technology Knowledge. Successful completion of background investigation, drug test required

Experience

Minimum: Previous experience in Dispatch setting preferred, medical terminology knowledge desirable

License/ Certifications

Minimum: None Required

• Works carefully and precisely without creating unnecessary errors. Pays close attention to details. Completes necessary documents according to hospital and departmental policy, evaluates and follows up on service provided, provides necessary services to those customers with whom the hospital serves.
• Displays sensitivity to needs of customers, displays polite behavior to customers, speaks in positive, professional manner about customers and the hospital, responds promptly to customers’ request and needs in timely fashion.
• Displays good organizational skills and utilizes time wisely, maintains neat and orderly work environment, completes assigned task in timely manner, seeks additional work upon completion of assignments.

• Observes hospital guidelines concerning unscheduled absences so as not to result in disciplinary action and reports absences-according to hospital procedure, complies with hospital policies concerning smoke breaks, rest breaks and meal breaks, reports to work when scheduled according to department procedure, is available to work as needed.
• Discusses personal, patient and staff related issue in confidential manner and in appropriate location, follows hospital policy concerning confidentially of customers
• Demonstrates professional development on the job as evidenced by completing a min. requirement for in-service and /or continuing education, attends mandatory in-services and training.

• Successful completion of background investigation and drug test are required
• Candidates must be able to obtain following certifications EMD, CPR CAD
• Able to develop skills and speed in operations of the communication equipment within reasonable period and to demonstrate a knowledge of public safety practices and procedures.
