Responsibilities
- Assist dentist during cleaning procedures and orthodontic procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
- Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Support patient care by taking vital signs, medical history updates
- Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures accurately for insurance billing and recordkeeping purposes
- Collaborate seamlessly with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and documentation
- Excellent communication skills
