What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chiller Technician position at Batchelor & Kimball, Inc.?
The ideal candidate will be responsible or maintaining and repairing and installing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and mechanical components/equipment. Maintaining the safe operation of highly complex systems and equipment. Specific systems may include: electronic/pneumatic, environmental controls, fan powered boxes and auxiliary equipment (various pumps, heat exchangers, air compressors, etc. Work with BAS controls, chiller operations, pump operations, water treatment programs, air handler units, and VAV’s.
.Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Conducts inspections, maintenance, repairs, and service on a variety of chiller systems, including air-cooled, water-cooled, and centrifugal chillers.
- Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains complex chiller equipment while diagnosing and resolving mechanical and operational issues.
- advanced technical knowledge in performing complete equipment overhauls, system evaluations, and root-cause diagnostics.
- Skilled in diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC and mechanical equipment, including:
- Air-cooled chillers (reciprocating, screw, and scroll) up to 100 tons
- Large water-cooled chiller systems
- Cooling towers
- Pumps and pumping systems
- Air compressors
- Compressed air dryers
- Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- Air handling units (AHU)
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
- Must be able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
- Be able to solve problems
- Plan work and select proper tools.
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
