What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at BATAVIA CONTAINER?
Purpose: Interact with customer to place orders and to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services. Understand customer needs and translate requests or inquiries into the company process and vernacular.
Reports to: Customer Service Supervisor
Conditions: Office environment with light travel to customer businesses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process orders, monitor and track inventory, purchase raw materials, assist with new item specification, and work to solve customer problems that may arise.
- Train, explain tasks, and assist in the solution of problems for Customer Service Assistant.
- Perform activities in support of Sales Representatives, including, but not limited to: correspondence, quotations, sample pickup/deliver requests, gathering and documenting new account information.
- Maintain professional and technical expertise by continuously developing knowledge of product line, prices, delivery time, drop ship items and similar data as required.
- Prepare and forward preliminary paperwork for returns and complaints on problem orders.
- Sustain professional e-mail and phone interaction with customer base.
- Perform and assist with all other duties assigned by Customer Service Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service.
- Customer service driven and focused.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to multi-task under pressure and exhibit organizational skills.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Develop corrugated industry knowledge.
- Ability to build and maintain partnerships with customers.
- Excellent phone etiquette and exceptional verbal communication skills.
- High school education or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Salary : $50,000 - $75,000
