JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
tudent worker assignments may vary by location and departmental need and may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting teachers, administrators, or staff with clerical and organizational tasks
- Answering phones, filing, data entry, and basic office support
- Supporting classrooms, libraries, media centers, or computer labs
- Assisting with campus supervision, student services, or school events
- Performing basic custodial or facilities support tasks (e.g., cleaning, organizing, setting up rooms, moving light equipment or supplies)
- Following work schedules, directions, and school rules
- Interacting respectfully with staff, students, and visitors
PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform light to moderate physical activity
- Ability to lift or move items as required for assigned duties
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a current student enrolled in an approved educational program
- Must meet eligibility requirements set by the Morehouse Parish School District
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and appropriate conduct
PREFERRED QUALIFCIATIONS
- Prior work, volunteer, or school-based experience
- Strong attendance and punctuality record
- Willingness to assist in a variety of work settings, including physical or custodial support tasks
REQUIREMENT PRE-EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Employment is contingent upon:
- Satisfactory completion of application requirements
- Submission of required documentation
- Completion of background requirements as applicable
- Agreement to complete all state and federally mandated training prior to beginning work
MANDATORY TRAINING REQUIREMENT
All student workers are required to complete applicable state- and district-mandated training prior to beginning work and maintain compliance throughout employment. Training access and instructions will be provided after hire through district-approved platforms.
WORK SCHEDULE
Work hours vary based on school or departmental needs and student availability. Work schedules must not interfere with academic responsibilities.
SUPERVISION
Student workers report directly to an assigned supervisor, principal, or department designee.
