JOB VACANCY: High School Assistant Principal
LOCATION: Bastrop High School
POSITION OVERVIEW
Morehouse Parish School Board is seeking a dynamic, student-centered instructional leader to serve as Assistant Principal at Bastrop High School. The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment, while promoting effective teaching, staff development, and student success.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
Contract Term: 10 months
Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule Assistant Principal Index (.17)
Reports To: Principal

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Louisiana certification in educational leadership (or eligibility as defined by BESE/Louisiana Department of Education)
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful educational leadership experience (school or district level preferred)
- Demonstrated experience supporting teacher growth and instructional improvement
- Strong knowledge of effective instructional strategies and best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse students, staff, families, and stakeholders
PREFERRED: Experience working in a Title I school setting
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Principal in daily school operations and instructional leadership
- Assist in implementing curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs aligned with state standards
- Promote a positive school culture focused on student achievement and equity
- Provide coaching and support for teachers to improve instructional effectiveness
- Assist with supervision and evaluation of staff as assigned
- Help ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies
- Supervises professional, paraprofessional, and support staff as assigned by the Principal.
