What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Services Part-Time Maintenance Worker position at Bastrop County?
Brief Job Description: Under general supervision this position performs minor maintenance work, ground keeping, fleet maintenance, and kennel cleaning for Bastrop County Animal Services. Work involves minor building/kennel repair, painting, minor restoration, mowing, weed eating, and cleaning kennels as directed. Works using a variety of skills, maintains and cares for Bastrop County Animal Services buildings, kennels, maintaining equipment, tools, materials, and supplies for Bastrop County Animal Services. This position is responsible for documenting all work performed. Work performed may be under minimal supervision, with latitude given for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May perform a wide variety of responsible maintenance and upkeep mechanical activities to ensure safe and continuous operations of Bastrop County Animal Services buildings and facilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Independently perform building maintenance and repairs. Perform various manual tasks for extended periods of time and in unfavorable weather conditions. Operate a variety of hand and power tools, and maintenance equipment, in a safe and effective manner. Perform a full range of maintenance duties as required. Understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate clearly and concisely verbally.
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Texas Driver’s license (or a valid out of state Driver’s license with the ability to obtain a TXDL within 90 days).
