What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardware Engineer (BT-25084) position at Bastion Technologies?
The Hardware Engineer will support the Space Force contract at the Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, FL.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, modify, and implement new and/or existing capabilities for support hardware systems.
- Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution.
- Support testing to qualify hardware systems for Range operations.
- Plan, conduct, and assist in the execution of Engineering projects.
- Coordinate with technical support personnel for assigned projects.
- Analyze, develop, recommend and implement approaches to meet work and project requirements.
- Evaluate component suppliers and vendor capabilities.
- Provide work guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Assist with problematic repairs of Line Replaceable Units (LRU's).
- Provide engineering assistance to restore operational systems.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of electrical engineering or related technical major in science, technology, engineering or math.
- Must have 4 years of recent engineering work experience.
- Proficiency with digital interface design to include familiarization with interface modules, cable/wire types and connector systems.
- Familiarity with and/or knowledge of Launch Test Range Weather Systems.
- LPLWS, AMPS, DRWP, MIDDS, WWINDS, and ERDAS
- Essential knowledge of hardware systems integration and testing practices.
- Experience in the configuring of Ethernet switches and network protocols.
- Experience providing inputs to complex project proposals within defined time constraints involving multi-discipline teams.
- Proficient in reading, understanding, creating or modifying wire diagrams, schematics and mechanical drawings using CAD or other drawing packages.
- Proficient in use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarization with computer systems including single board (SBCs), servers, and workstations.
- Familiarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systems.
- Proficient in technical writing for development of technical reports, white papers and other technical support documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
WORK LOCATION:
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule; subject to change if needed. Most tasks for this position must be performed on-site, but some may be performed remotely.
- This position may require some travel.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
