The Project Manager will assist in designing, planning, and constructing healthcare facilities and infrastructure across its multi-site network. This critical role will manage capital construction and renovation projects, ensuring they support patient-centered care, operational efficiency, and full regulatory compliance with New York State healthcare standards.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in healthcare facility project management, including experience with the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH), Office of Mental Health (OMH), and Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) regulations, as applicable.
Reports to the Director of Design & Construction.
- Manage healthcare construction and renovation projects from design through close-out
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and end users
- Ensure project compliance with NYSDOH, The Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA, and ADA
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in regulatory submissions
- Oversee budgeting, cost tracking, value engineering, and change management
- Lead stakeholder meetings and communicate project status to senior leadership
- Ensure patient and staff safety via adherence to ICRA and infection control protocols
- Perform risk assessments and contribute to mitigation planning
- Travel regularly across Bassett facilities; hybrid work arrangements possible

4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, required
- Additional 4 years of experience in construction and project management in lieu of degree
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare construction and project management, required
- Knowledge of hospital infrastructure systems (MEP, life safety, infection control, etc.), required
- Strong understanding of construction codes, standards, and construction methodologies; experience applicable to healthcare construction projects preferred
- Experience working in active healthcare environments with phased construction, preferred
- Experience with government-funded or publicly bid projects, preferred
- Valid NYS Driver's license, required
- A project management professional (PMP), certified healthcare constructor (CHC) or similar certification, preferred
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, eBuilder (TUC Project), required
