BioMedical Technician I

Overview: Responsibilities:

• Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect risk level 2 or lower, and selected level 1 medical equipment.
• Preform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, and document equipment performance.
• Maintain a high quality of work completed on equipment, with expedient response.
• Responds to work requests, changes, and tasks associated with the FMP.
• Assist senior biomedical engineering technicians with repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of medical equipment and systems.
• Maintains biomedical equipment supplies inventory; anticipating needs; managing orders.
• Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Vocational / Technical trade school and/or Equivalent work/military experience in electronics, electrical/biomedical engineering or related field serving electrical or mechanical equipment, preferred
• 2 year / Associate Degree in electronics technology or equivalent, preferred

• Minimum one year experience with mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair (preferably with medical electronics), preferred

• NYS Driver's License, required
